Alyn is a Senior Clinical Fellow in Restorative Dentistry at Univeristy of Leeds with 30 years dental industry experience.
He was a partner in one of the UK’s largest NHS dental practices, exiting at an industry leading multiple going on to become one of the Directors of a highly successful private practice in Ilkley.
He has been involved in the development of national dental policy and is a Council member and past-President of the British Endodontic Society. He has been involved in NHS commissioning as part of the West Yorkshire Local Dental Network and was a member of the Dental Clinical Commissioning Executive of NHS Yorkshire and the Humber as well as chairing the Yorkshire Council of Local Dental Committees for 5 years.
He has acted as a Key Opinion Leader and product advisor for two multinational dental manufacturing companies, been an invited speaker at national and international conferences and taught hands-on courses for 15 years.
He has co-founded and secured funding for two spin-out companies from the University of Leeds, raising over £3m in early-stage angel and institutional VC equity funding.
Andrew leads the technical research and development of the Mimetrik products, and is a co-inventor of the Mimetrik patents.
A Professor of Prosthodontics and Digital Dentistry at the University of Leeds School of Dentistry, he has a 20-year career background in both computer science and clinical dentistry. Andrew has spent time in primary care dentistry and has over ten years’ experience in clinical trials and research and development (including a PhD in Digital Occlusion).
He has been a technical consultant to several multinational dental manufacturing companies, refining their digital dental technologies for market. He has developed patented technology which is currently licensed worldwide.
He is a globally recognised expert in the field of digital dentistry, having published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in the past five years and has been a keynote speaker on the subject at numerous international meetings and conferences.
Rob brings 30 years of expertise in financing, developing, manufacturing, and launching medical device and digital health technologies, alongside executing successful exits.
Rob has run and advised a number of startup companies in the medical and digital health fields, raising significant finance, bringing novel technology to market, helping set up quality and regulatory systems, and acting as non-exec Chair, Director, and Investor Director, as well as hands-on operational CEO roles.
Prior to that he worked for Roche, Oxford Instruments, and was formerly a member of the Operations Board of Huntleigh Healthcare following the successful sale and integration of the Sonicaid Fetal Monitoring and Medilog Cardiology businesses.
His sector experience spans in-vitro diagnostic laboratory and point of care testing; cardiology; obstetrics; gynaecology; fertility; general women’s health; EMG, EEG and sleep neurology; and ophthalmology.
Cecilie is co-founder and Principal Applied Scientist at Mimetrik. She completed her PhD, focusing on 3D scanners in dentistry, in 2021.
Prior to joining Mimetrik full time, she was a key member of the Digital Dentistry research group at the University of Leeds. She has published peer-reviewed publications on 3D scanning, quality analysis of 3D data in dentistry, 3D printing, and the use of haptic simulation for dental education.
Cecilie has spoken at international conferences and is co-inventor on a number of Mimetrik patents.
Darren has over 30 years broad experience in operational management, human resources and project management.
He brings a wealth of understanding of project delivery to Mimetrik.

Dale has a master’s degree in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Leeds with distinction, specialising in high-performance graphics, geometric processing, and embedded control systems.
He has designed and built a wide variety of electronic systems including autonomous robots and a generator simulation testbed designed to perform extensive long-term automated testing of safety critical equipment which is used actively in industry today.
He has also proposed exploratory ideas and tools for software analytics utilising 3D graphics to effectively display trends in large quantities of data.
Elias has a PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Computer Vision Engineering with distinction, both from the University of Sheffield, and a bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering specialising in Artificial Intelligence from Arab International University.
Elias specialises in developing computer vision solutions using sparse top-down imagery, motion estimation, visual odometry, particle filtering algorithms, and segmentation and registration neural networks and has extensive experience in point cloud processing and image information extraction.
Luke joined Mimetrik following completion of his MEng in Mechatronics and Robotics at the University of Leeds. He completed a Technical Placement at CGI within the Secure and Assured Space Solutions unit, where he designed software tools for an ESA satellite’s onboard systems.
Whilst at University he specialised in medical devices and biomechatronics, assisting in the design concept for a novel teleoperated robotic device for performing periodontal surgery in LDCs. He also created a rehabilitation system that used a custom built exoskeleton and video game to guide and encourage physiotherapy exercises, which helped develop his skills with rapid prototyping and embedded programming.
Andrew joined Mimetrik following an extensive career in quality working in the medical device and veterinary diagnostic industries.
He brings a wealth of experience including: Supplier Management, Change Management, CAPA, RCI and Risk Management, Training and Mentoring, Regulatory Compliance, Process Creation and Document Control, Internal Audit, and Data Analysis.
Syeda works part time on the Technical Delivery of projects at Mimetrik. She’s an experienced Laboratory Scientist with a demonstrated history of working in a lab-based environment.
Syeda is also proficient in the development and execution of research projects, conducting literature reviews, data collection, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
